Smoothies for everyone!

When I was a kid, I didn’t enjoy eating fruits at all. The feeling of a a banana, a pear or a peach on my tongue, made ​​my face cringe and shrivel like a Shar Pei puppy, accompanied with a destressed “Yuck” and a squeaky “eeewww”. I guess I wasn’t good at barking!

In order to learn how to learn smoothies, I had to live on my own, because in Kesariani, the area where I grew up in during the 80’s and 90’s, we didn’t have those kind of drinks except maybe some ready made, storebought juices (my only options were,  freshly squeezed orange juice, which my grandmother forced me to guzzle in one swig, to avoid loosing all its vitamins). 

So I proudly present my four favorite smoothies (for 2 people), of which three of them are green with spinach and kale! 

Blender, glass, straw and let’s go!


The Peanut butter effect

  • 1 banana
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 2 tsp peanut butter
  • 2 tsp coca powder
  • 118 ml rice milk

Cinnamon Love

  • 2 carrots
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 3 tbsp oat
  • 1 banana
  • 118 ml rice milk
  • A pinch of cinnamon


Green Monster

  • 1 cup of carrot juice
  • 3 pears
  • 5 blackberries
  • 1 piece of ginger
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 2 handfuls of kale
  • 3 tbsp linseed
  • 118 ml cold water

Choco Banana

  • 1 banana
  • 1 large pear
  • 1 handful of hazelnuts
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • 118 ml cold water or hazenut milk
